Interview With Pop Singer-Songwriter Seanna Pereira

Hey Seanna! Thanks for taking the time to do this. What are your main music influences, and how did you decide you wanted to get into the pop genre?

Thank you for having me! I grew up loving Taylor Swift for the storytelling in her songwriting, Amy Winehouse for her soulful, raw texture, and Adele for how vulnerable she’s able to get. I’ve been singing since I could talk, so it always felt natural to me; it’s the space where you can tell a really personal story but still make it feel fun and catchy at the same time. That balance is what pulled me in!

How would you describe your music to someone who's just discovered it today?

I’d say it’s honest pop that doesn’t shy away from being vulnerable. I write about real relationships, self-doubt, and figuring out your purpose, but I want a lot of it to still feel fun and confident.  Visually, I lean pretty cinematic and high fashion, so it’s a full experience, not just the actual songs but a whole story.

When it comes to having writer's block or a lack of inspiration, how do you find that spark of creativity again? Did you have that a lot from time to time for making this EP?

Honestly, what pushes me through it is remembering that this music could actually help someone else who’s going through something similar. That reminder is usually enough to get me back into it, even on the days the inspiration isn’t just there right away.

What's something you have been noticing that fans are taking from this EP?

Honestly, the thing that means the most to me is hearing that people feel like it’s okay to not have everything figured out, or that they don’t feel as alone in whatever they’re going through. Being able to see people love and connect to the music has been really special.

How was the overall writing and producing process for this EP?

I’m a huge perfectionist, so I went back and forth with my producers a lot in the studio to really find the right balance between the production and the vocals. Depending on the song, that meant going in ten times or just a few. When I want real vulnerability, I always leaned toward a more stripped-back production so nothing got in the way of the lyrics!

Did you have any inspirations while you were writing the songs for the EP?

Definitely Taylor Swift and Gracie Abrams were all in my head a lot, whether it was storytelling, rawness, or vulnerability. I was also just pulling from real things happening in my life at the time.

What’s your favourite song on the EP?

Probably “Arsonist.” It was actually the first song I wrote for the EP, and it’s still one of my favourites; it’s deep and emotional but still pop and catchy, which I love!

If you can have your listeners and fans remember one thing about yourself, what would you want them to remember you by and why?

I’d want them to remember that I was always honest and vulnerable, even when it can be scary to dig up your past experiences. I hope people connect to that and feel like they can be a little more honest with themselves too and comfortable being vulnerable with people.

If there was one band or artist that reached out to you right now that wanted to have you on tour, who would that dream artist be right now?

Taylor Swift hands down. She’s been such a huge influence on me as a storyteller, so getting to be on the tour with her would be a dream come true!

Finally, what are your plans for the rest of 2026?

Definitely writing more music and developing my sound and audience! I’m really hoping to be able to start touring soon and get to meet fans in person as well!
