Demi Lovato brought her It’s Not That Deep Tour to Southern California on back-to-back weekends. On Saturday, May 9th, at the Honda Center in Anaheim, and the following Saturday, May 16th, at the Kia Forum in Los Angeles (which was sold out), she was supported by Adéla throughout the entirety of the tour.
Adéla was the perfect opener. She has a great voice, stage presence, and energy. She and her dancers performed an amazing ballet number before singing “DeathByDevotion” and during the song as well. A lot of people were already familiar with her music, and the ones who weren’t left as fans.

Demi’s intro began, then transitioned into her opening song, “Fast.” She started the performance hidden behind a garage-style door. The music paused for a moment, building anticipation, before the door lifted to reveal Demi standing on stage, and as fans erupted in cheers, the song continued. It was a powerful entrance that had the crowd instantly energized. The setlist was a perfect mix of all her albums. Demi closed out the night with “Cool For The Summer”. In the middle of the song, she added a part of someone saying, “Brothers and Sisters, ladies, gentlemen and everyone in between. We are gathered here tonight to feel, love one another, to dance with each other, celebrate our differences and embrace what makes us, us. Do not be scared, she, he, they, them, us, you and I, we’re cool for the summer”. I loved the addition of this message and how inclusive and uplifting it felt, bringing everyone together.

Every night, Demi did a surprise song during the show. Her dancers bring out a clothing rack with outfits that represent each one of her albums and eras. Her dancers then go into the crowd and pick a fan to open an envelope with a number on it that corresponds with the outfits. For Anaheim, the surprise song was “For You” from Confident. In LA, it was “Nightingale” from Demi, and she also sang “LA LA LAND” from her debut album, Don’t Forget.
In LA, Demi brought out two special guests. First was Cobrah during “Fantasy” and Rose Gray for “Joshua Tree”. Both songs appear on the deluxe version of It’s Not That Deep (Unless You Want It To Be).
Demi brought incredible energy both nights, and in LA, the fans really showed up and matched it. Her voice is better than ever, delivering unbelievable vocals as always. The whole production, from the stage design, lighting, to her incredible dancers, made these shows truly amazing.
