  • Silverstein - Antibloom

For a band that has spent the past twenty-five years redefining and evolving post-hardcore, Silverstein's latest album, Antibloom , due out on February 21, 2025, via UNFD, serves as a testament to their endurance and artistic growth. As part one of a two-part album ( Pink Moon  set to arrive in the latter half of 2025), Antibloom  is a bold and dynamic collection of eight tracks that showcase the band's deep-rooted influences while pushing their sound into new and unexpected territories. Recorded in the deserts of Joshua Tree and produced by the renowned Sam Guaiana (Neck Deep, Holding Absence, Bayside), this record encapsulates the raw energy, emotion, and innovation that have kept Silverstein at the forefront of the scene for over two and a half decades. From the moment Antibloom  kicks off, it's clear that Silverstein is pulling no punches. The album balances their signature blend of melodic post-hardcore, pop-punk, and metalcore while weaving in fresh sonic textures when and where they can. “Mercy Mercy” sets the tone for the album with one of Silverstein’s heaviest offerings to date, but nowhere as heavy as their 2022 single, "Die Alone," which featured Comeback Kid's Andrew Neufeld. “Mercy Mercy” is anchored by a devastating breakdown, reminding listeners why the band continues to be a powerhouse in the heavy music scene. On the flip side, “Don’t Let Me Get Too Low” is a track that seamlessly fuses pop-punk energy with hardcore grit. Vocalist Shane Told describes it as a song that “does so much in under three minutes,” and it’s easy to see why—the track moves at breakneck speed, blending aggressive instrumentation with a catchy hook. One of the standout moments on the album, “Confession”, is a melodic and emotionally charged song with an anthemic chorus. Told describes it as “one of the strongest singles we’ve ever released” due to its powerful message of owning up to one’s mistakes and carefully crafted layers of instrumentation. Silverstein has never shied away from heavy lyrical themes, but Antibloom  sees them diving even deeper. “Skin & Bones” stands out as one of the most emotionally intense tracks on the entire album. The song is a tribute to Shane Told’s ex-girlfriend, who was tragically murdered. Told reflects, “Every day we’re stuck in our own heads worrying about trivial things and never thinking about just how fragile we are. Life can be gone in an instant.” The raw emotion in his voice, combined with the haunting instrumentals, makes for one of the most poignant moments in Silverstein’s always-growing discography. The band also experiments with progressive and sludgier elements on “Stress”, blending their hardcore and metalcore influences with intricate guitar work and unconventional sounds really not used by them often. This track, in particular, showcases the band's ability to evolve while staying true to their roots. Meanwhile, “Cherry Coke” serves as the album’s powerful closer, both lyrically and sonically profound. It’s a track that lingers long after the final note, leaving listeners eagerly anticipating the next chapter with Pink Moon . With Antibloom , Silverstein achieves something truly special—a collection of songs that feel both nostalgic and forward-thinking. The album serves as a celebration of their twenty-five-year journey while offering fans a fresh and compelling listening experience. Whether it’s the crushing breakdowns, infectious hooks, or deeply personal lyricism, Antibloom  is a reminder of why Silverstein remains one of the most respected names in post-hardcore. As the band embarks on their 25 Years of Noise Tour , spanning across North America, the UK, and Europe, fans can expect to hear these songs come to life in an electrifying fashion. And with Pink Moon  on the horizon, Silverstein’s legacy is far from over—if anything has shown, they’re just getting started. Listen to the new songs HERE and pre-save Splithoff’s sophomore album HERE . Masterfully blending his virtuosic piano skills with a layered Western texture and longing lyrics, Splithoff created a uniquely timeless track with “Plateau,” and has released an accompanying music video with a warm, vintage aesthetic set on the open road. These stunning songs follow the release of the romantic R&B-leaning song “ Tangled ” and the more atmospheric, funk-pop song “ Magenta (Days Go By) ,” the perfect introduction to Splithoff’s eclectic yet cohesive new sound. His highly-anticipated record Far From Here  draws on classic soul, pop, jazz, and R&B, showcasing one of the most soothing and soulful voices of his generation, with arrangements often focused on his voice and just piano/guitar, a sound he wanted to recreate after performing the tracks solo on tour. Mostly self-produced by John, his voice and musical approach recalls the icons of music from Michael McDonald to Sade, as well as its more celebrated innovators like Benny Sings and Mk.Gee. In support of the new record, Splithoff will tour the US, with dates including New York’s Racket, Los Angeles’s Troubadour, Nashville’s Exit/In, Washington D.C’s Union Stage, Chicago’s Outset, and more. Listen to “Tangled” HERE Watch “Tangled” music video HERE Listen To “Magenta” HERE Watch “Magenta” music video HERE John was raised in a music-filled home in the suburbs of Chicago and developed a deep appreciation at an early age for the timeless sounds of Stevie Wonder, Pink Floyd, Earth, Wind & Fire, Fleetwood Mac, these cornerstone influences shaping his unique musical identity. He had piano lessons and received his first guitar at 13, teaching himself to play through obsessively exploring the music of the '60s, '70s, and '80s. The catalyst of his music career began in high school when he was passed over for a spot on the baseball team, and auditioned for a vocal group on a whim. From there he started writing songs, performing in bands, leading eventually to a degree in Jazz Performance from the renowned Frost School of Music at the University of Miami. He moved to New York City after crafting a 5-track EP in Chicago, which is not so subtly entitled The Move . Playing his first gigs around the city he wrote and recorded a first crop of singles while teaching private lessons, performing at weddings, and singing commercial jingles. This led to the eventual release of his breakout single, “Sing to You”, which changed his life. The track amassed over 150 million streams, landed on key Spotify playlists, and led to John hearing his music played in public for the first time. He witnessed his music climb to the top of AC Radio, alongside landing international headliner spots and festivals. Despite all his industry success, John has remained an enigma and prevalent behind the scenes collaborator, preferring at times to support the musical efforts of offers, in sacrifice of his own. He has performed with some of the great artists of our time, from Sting, George Benson, Ben Folds, and jazz trumpeter Chris Botti on the David Foster-produced single “Paris . ” He had to figure out what would come next. So John made a big decision—actually, a series of big decisions. He traveled around the country, playing his own headlining shows and opening for the likes of Andy Grammer, Gabrielle Aplin, Ben Rector, MAX, and performing at Lollapalooza and Bonnaroo in 2018, navigated Covid lockdown in NYC before he eventually moved to Los Angeles a few months later in 2022. He has continued touring non-stop, bringing his soulful pop style to such high-profile shows including an opening slot for Teddy Swims in 2024. And from all of this change, exploration, confusion, and excitement came a rush of inspiration, which became the backbone of John’s new album Far From Here. Far From Here  reflects on his dramatic life changes while told through vignettes capturing poignant personal memories. On “Far From Here”  Splithoff examines his search for a new perspective with his New York to LA Move. “City Days” which features Chris Botti on trumpet, pays homage to his relationship with New York City at the various stages of his life. Tracks like “Glacier” symbolize relationships growing apart against the backdrop of Montana's natural beauty, while “Oh Betty” tells a nostalgic story about the Buick Century he drove during his college days in Miami. “Same Page” recalls a transformative camping trip in Arizona that inspired his move west, and “Kyoto Snow” transports listeners to Japan, where he saw snowfall for the first time at a temple in Kyoto. Far From Here  also draws on his shifting family and friendship relationships which he holds so dear. “A lot of these songs are associated with a time and place that hold a lot of meaning to me,” he says. “I also noticed, within all that change, how my relationships ebbed and flowed—I felt closer to people I didn't know as well, and I felt distant from people who I considered my best friends and family. So it’s been an eye-opening path.” Out of the turmoil and disruption, the uncertainty, the ups and downs of the last few years, John Splithoff emerged with a transformation in his attitude and his approach. With Far From Here , he is now perfectly poised to make his musical mark and his striking and evocative album is set to be one of the most celebrated of 2025. • Dela Kay Reflects On Love And Loss On New Single "Anybody Else"

Stream “Anybody Else” Here Alt-Pop artist, Dela Kay, unveils her latest single, "Anybody Else," a heart-wrenching ballad that captures the bittersweet nostalgia of lost love. Written in October of last year in Nick Cozine’s East Nashville studio, the song was born out of deep reflection and raw emotion, making it one of Dela Kay’s most vulnerable releases to date. The track was co-written by Dela Kay, Nick Cozine, and Whitney Fenimore—the same trio behind her previous single, "Remedy." "As soon as the three of us got together, we knew we were going to write a ballad," shares Dela Kay. "I was still processing a painful breakup just a few months before, and with the Halloween spookiness looming in the air that day, nostalgia was all around us. We started to walk down memory lane with my past relationship, coming up with lyrics detailing my first date, then letting the current reality hit when writing the chorus." Nick Cozine first introduced the "any anybody else" hook, which instantly resonated with the team. "Whitney and I loved it and knew we wanted to keep it," Dela Kay recalls. "With both Nick and Whitney rooted in the folk/indie scene, the melodies we developed felt so organic and real to all of us. Sometimes when you're speaking directly from the heart, things flow super easily, and they definitely did that day." In an unconventional move, the final vocal in "Anybody Else" is actually Dela Kay’s original scratch vocal from the writing session. "We loved it so much, we kept all of it—it’s the same vocal you hear in the final track!" she reveals. Sonically, "Anybody Else" evokes the drama and intensity of early 2000s romance films. "It’s kind of giving ‘A Cinderella Story’ when Chad Michael Murray runs up on the bleachers in the rain to kiss Hilary Duff after the football game," Dela Kay explains. "We wanted the verses to feel bare, with acoustics leading the track alongside strings, but then have the choruses come in strong with booming drums and electric guitar swells—absolutely wrecking our hearts." At its core, "Anybody Else" explores the complexity of love and heartbreak, offering both understanding and vulnerability. "The second verse acknowledges their past and offers reassurance that I’m strong enough to handle their pain," Dela Kay says. "And as painful as it was in the moment writing this song, I have peace looking back. Even though the relationship didn’t work out, knowing my heart has the capacity to love that deeply—despite the pain—is something to be hopeful for in my future." MORE INFO: Dela Kay, who hails from the vibrant music scene of Nashville, TN, draws inspiration from artists such as The Maine, Maggie Lindemann, Paramore, and Avril Lavigne. “The One” follows the success of her debut EP, Falling Into Place, with singles that have amassed almost 1M streams collectively, and secured a spot on Shazam's Best New Music Apple Playlist. Dela Kay, who identifies as a songwriter first and foremost, believes that the past year of her career has been her most authentic to date. With a commitment to continue releasing singles throughout the rest of this year, she is determined to leave a lasting impression and make her mark on the music industry with her unique voice and perspective. At the start of Dela Kay’s career in 2014, her electro-pop style began to emerge through a collaboration with Grammy-winning singer/songwriter and producer, Femke Weidema; which eventually led to her first electro-pop/European-infused single release, “9 out of 10.” Named by Earmilk as an artist who was gifted “with a rich, distinctive vocal style” for her 2018 release of “Make You Mine,” Dela Kay went on to continue releasing singles and garnering hundreds of thousands of streams. In 2019 Dela Kay released “All My Love” through Sony Music, which ended up charting 49 on the top 150 global artist charts for Digital Radio Tracker as well as in the top ten for the Top Independent Charts. After a brief hiatus, Dela Kay marked her return by debuting a new, more alternative sound in 2021 with the release of “The Worst Part,” via Wonderland Magazine, and has been releasing this style of music ever since. British pop-country powerhouse Twinnie is kicking off 2025 with a bang, unveiling her exhilarating new single, " Worst Kind of Crush ," just in time for Valentine’s Day. Now streaming on all platforms, this infectious, pop-infused track offers a bittersweet twist on love and heartbreak—perfect for anyone navigating the highs and lows of romance this season. With lyrics that capture the sting of unfulfilled love, "Worst Kind of Crush" offers a compelling contrast between heartbreak and high-energy pop-country: "The worst kind of crush is us making out at midnight on New Year’s Eve / The worst kind of rush is us giving it up and you disappearing on me." “We all know what it’s like to have a crush, but hopefully, if you’re lucky, you’ll never know what it’s like to feel crushed by love. This song is about missing the potential of what could have been—when someone does a 180 on you and their feelings completely switch. I wrote this song with Brandon Paddock a few years ago, and I’ve always loved its crossover appeal. It’s a sad story, but it has a happy groove. • Winter x Hooky - Water Season EP

Collaboration can often breathe new life into an artist’s work, pushing their sound into uncharted territory. Water Season , the new EP from Brazilian-American indie artist Winter and glitchy Philly duo Hooky, is a perfect example of this phenomenon. Set for release on February 14, 2025, via Julia's War Recordings, the four-track offering is an immersive blend of dreamy indie textures, electronic experimentation, and intimate songwriting. Winter (Samira Winter) and Hooky (Scott Turner and Sam Silbert) first connected online as mutual admirers of each other's work, and their creative chemistry was undeniable from the start. Winter’s previous EP, ...and she’s still listening (2024), saw her incorporating trip-hop, spoken word, and electronic influences into her already ethereal sound, while Hooky’s fourth album Mirage  (2024) was a reverb-drenched, genre-blurring take on shoegaze and electronica. The resulting Water Season  is the natural progression of these sonic explorations, creating a wistful and glitchy dreamscape that feels both intimate and otherworldly. The lead single, and the EP's opening track, “horseshoe,” is a hypnotic introduction to the EP, built on wiry guitars, shimmering synths, and a pulsing electronic beat. Winter’s airy vocals float above the instrumental like a half-remembered dream, delivering earnest lyrics with a weightless quality. The accompanying DIY music video, self-directed by the trio and filmed in Philadelphia’s John Heinz Park and the Museum of Modern Art, perfectly encapsulates the song’s nostalgic, transient energy. It’s a portrait of new friendships forming in real-time, mirroring the organic way Water Season  came together. The EP continues on with the track “in your pocket,” a lo-fi, skittering track that layers chopped-up shoegaze textures with subtle trip-hop rhythms. The EP's third track, “lost tears,” leans further into the duo’s electronic sensibilities, featuring distorted vocal samples around Samira and Scott's dueling vocals, and also features a haunting, melancholic melody that lingers long after the song ends. Water Season closes out with the song, “i like you,” is a delicate and heartfelt finale, combining Winter’s signature dream-pop aesthetics with Hooky’s glitch-infused production to create a track that feels both deeply personal and universally resonant. Water Season  is an impressive collaboration that finds both Winter and Hooky stepping out of their comfort zones while staying true to their artistic identities. It’s a collection of songs that feel ephemeral yet immersive, like capturing the last golden hour of summer before autumn’s chill sets in. Fans of dreamy indie, experimental electronica, and nostalgic soundscapes will find plenty to love in this short, approximately ten-minute-long but impactful release. Winter and Hooky’s Water Season  is a testament to the magic that happens when artists with distinct yet complementary styles come together. These four tracks are a beautiful, fleeting snapshot of a musical connection that feels both fresh and familiar, leaving listeners hoping for more collaborations in the future. • Haunted Mouths - A Collection of Greetings

Kellin Quinn has long been a defining voice in post-hardcore, but with his new solo project, Haunted Mouths , he embarks on an entirely different sonic journey and branches far from his norm. A Collection of Greetings , out February 14, 2025, via Rise Records, is a stark departure from the sounds of Sleeping With Sirens and most artists Quinn has collaborated with over the years, trading in electrifying breakdowns for dreamy, slow-burning bedroom pop, with a twist of indie rock, and infused with moody atmospheres and heartfelt lyricism. From the moment "Further Til We Disappear" opens up the album, it’s clear this is Quinn at his most intimate. The track, an indie-rock-inflected love letter to his wife, layers delicate yet funky bass lines with poignant and haunting synth work, setting the tone for an album that thrives on emotion and vulnerability. "Tunnel Vision" follows suit with synth-heavy textures, acoustic guitars, and subtle vocal processing that elevate Quinn’s already distinctive voice. As the album progresses, "Casting Over Them" introduces a pulsing bassline that brings a sense of movement to the record, while the track "Searching For A Fire" stands out as an acoustic-driven folk-inspired ballad, rich in introspection. These songs showcase Quinn’s ability to weave storytelling with sonic exploration, making each track feel both personal and expansive. The title track, "A Collection of Greetings," strips things back further, allowing his vocals to take center stage over a sparse but haunting arrangement of synths, acoustic guitar, and distant drum echoes. It’s a deeply sentimental moment that encapsulates the album’s thematic core—love, memory, and devotion to his wife and family. In the latter half of Quinn's solo record, "Becoming Nameless" surprises with a sultry saxophone solo that merges seamlessly with the dark, brooding bedroom-pop aesthetic, while the closing track "You Built This" is an emotionally charged finale reminiscent of The 1975’s slower, melancholic moments, blending haunting bass with atmospheric production to give listeners a solid conclusion. Co-produced with Aaron Marsh of the alt-rock/indie pop band Copeland, A Collection of Greetings  is the product of a seamless creative partnership, with the songs coming together in just two weeks. The result is an album that feels cohesive yet adventurous, pushing Quinn’s artistry into new, exciting territory. While some fans may expect elements of Sleeping With Sirens to creep in, Haunted Mouths  is a fresh endeavour, proving that Kellin Quinn is more than just the frontman of a beloved post-hardcore band—he’s an artist unafraid to evolve. With lush production, introspective lyrics, and an ethereal soundscape, A Collection of Greetings  is a hauntingly beautiful listen and an exciting new chapter in Quinn’s musical journey. • Love Is Noise - To Live In A Different Way

The debut album from Love Is Noise, To Live In A Different Way , is a sonic exercise in emotion, power, and vulnerability. To be released on February 14, 2025, via Century Media Records, the album finds the band balancing the raw energy of their DIY origins with the soaring melodies of shoegaze, the punch of post-hardcore, and subtle Brit-pop influences. Co-produced by the band alongside engineer Kel Pinchin and mixed by John Markson (Drug Church, Drain, The Story So Far), To Live In A Different Way  delivers a cathartic and deeply personal listening experience. From the opening track, “Devotion,” it’s immediately clear that Love Is Noise has crafted something special. Vocalist Cam Humphrey’s delivery transitions from passionate crooning to throat-shredding intensity, setting the emotional tone for the album. This energy carries into “Soft Glow,” the album’s lead single, where Humphrey’s vocals soar over a wall of punchy guitars and relentless drumming. The combination of melody and aggression establishes Love Is Noise as a band unafraid to embrace both beauty and chaos. The album’s title track, “To Live In A Different Way,” serves as the emotional core of the entire record. Humphrey describes it as the song that solidified the album’s identity, even bringing him to tears during the track recording process. With powerful lyrics like, “Visions of you, let me escape this barren world,” the song encapsulates the feeling of longing and the need for an emotional release in such turbulent times. While the band’s post-hardcore roots are evident throughout the record, they also show an impressive range. Tracks like “Sunshine” lean into evocative melodies, enhanced by the addition of a live cello that adds depth and warmth to the song. Whereas, “Evelyn” strips things down for a few moments with acoustic strumming, proving the band’s ability to explore softer moments without losing their emotional weight or driving too far away from their sonic backbone. Meanwhile, the track “Jawbreaker” unleashes a metallic fury, demonstrating that Love Is Noise hasn’t lost touch with their heavier influences and roots one single bit. Lyrically, To Live In A Different Way  is deeply introspective. Humphrey, a Bolton native, uses the album as a platform to explore themes of love, loss, and self-discovery. His ability to weave personal storytelling into the band’s dynamic soundscape makes for an album that is as thought-provoking as it is sonically immersive. The album’s closer, which clocks in over six minutes titled, “Ascending,” serves as a fitting conclusion, leaving listeners with a sense of catharsis and resolution to the band's debut effort. For a debut album, To Live In A Different Way  is remarkably cohesive and ambitious. Love Is Noise has managed to create a body of work that feels both deeply personal and universally relatable. It’s an album that demands to be felt as much as it is heard, a testament to the band’s ethos of making every moment matter. With this debut release, Love Is Noise cements itself as one of the most compelling new voices in the alternative scene, proving that their journey is only just beginning. • Winona Fighter - My Apologies To The Chef

Nashville-based alternative punk rock outfit Winona Fighter is here to shake up the scene with their highly anticipated debut album, My Apologies To The Chef . Set to be released via Rise Records on February 14, 2025, the album delivers a raw, unapologetic blend of classic punk ethos and modern alternative energy with a little twist of pop punk. With fourteen explosive tracks, frontwoman Coco Kinnon and her bandmates, guitarist Dan Fuson and drummer and producer Austin Luther, craft an album that is equal parts cathartic, satirical, and socially aware. From the outset, My Apologies To The Chef  pulls no punches. The album kicks off with "JUMPERCABLES," a fast-paced adrenaline rush that sets the tone for what's to come. "You Look Like A Drunk Phoebe Bridgers" follows with biting wit, offering the kind of tongue-in-cheek lyricism that has become a signature of Winona Fighter’s songwriting. Lead single "ATTENTION" stands as the album’s most politically charged anthem, tackling issues ranging from substance abuse crises to healthcare inequities and homelessness. Kinnon’s vocals rage against societal indifference, making it one of the most compelling tracks on the record. Meanwhile, "HAMMS IN A GLASS" captures the band's spontaneous spirit with chaotic energy, reinforced by a one-take music video that mirrors the band's DIY ethos. The album isn’t all fire and fury, though. Tracks like "Swear To God That I'm (FINE)" take a more introspective turn, addressing the emotional rollercoaster of pursuing a music career. Kinnon’s candid lyrics expose the pressures of success, self-worth, and gratitude, making for one of the album’s most heartfelt moments. "R U FAMOUS" offers a more sardonic take on the music industry, calling out opportunists who latch onto rising artists for clout. Sonically, the album straddles the line between punk’s raw aggression and alternative rock’s melodic sensibilities. Tracks like "TALK" and "Swimmer’s Ear" lean into anthemic choruses, while "I Think You Should Leave" channels the reckless abandon of early 2000s garage punk. The production, handled primarily by the band themselves, ensures that each track retains a sense of authenticity—there’s no over-polished sheen here, just unfiltered passion. With My Apologies To The Chef , Winona Fighter cements themselves as one of the most exciting new voices in punk. Their ability to blend humour, anger, and vulnerability into a cohesive body of work speaks to their undeniable talent and dedication. Whether you’re a longtime punk fan or just looking for an album that’s unafraid to challenge the status quo, this record is a must-listen. It’s an invitation to scream, mosh, and, most importantly, give a damn. • Rising Canadian Pop Artist Cameron Sage From Has Released Her New Single "She's Not Me"

Toronto-born and Los Angeles-based pop artist Cameron Sage From delivers a shimmering, sun-soaked anthem with her latest single, "She’s Not Me." Produced by Nashville-based Josh Frigo—renowned for his work with Niall Horan and Fletcher—the track blends colourful synths, lush guitars, and an undeniably catchy chorus, making it an instant standout in the world of contemporary pop. Thematically, "She’s Not Me" explores the ache of unrequited love, painting the narrative of a love triangle with diary-like honesty. Cameron’s magnetic vocals glide over the song’s upbeat, breezy production, creating a striking contrast between the melancholic lyrical content and the warm, summery instrumental. As she sings about a one-sided emotional struggle, the track embodies the bittersweet reality of watching someone you love choose another. Cameron shares, "I really wanted the feel of 'She’s Not Me' to contrast the instrumental with the lyrics. If you dive into the lyrics, it’s quite depressing, but it’s masked by a warm, upbeat instrumental. It’s kind of like how the lyrics say, ‘You have no clue how I feel, and I'd like to keep it that way.’ The friendship feels like a game of pretending in this situation." Since stepping onto the scene, Cameron Sage From has made waves with her emotionally raw storytelling and genre-blending production choices. With nearly a million streams in under a year and praise from publications like tmrw Magazine  and Melodic , she’s quickly proving herself as an artist to watch. "She’s Not Me"  is a testament to Cameron’s ability to craft infectious, heartfelt pop that resonates deeply with listeners. • Lacuna Coil - Sleepless Empire

Lacuna Coil’s tenth studio album, Sleepless Empire , which will be out on February 14, 2025, via Century Media Records, is more than just another entry in their storied discography—it’s a cinematic, atmospheric journey that cements the band’s legacy as one of the most dynamic forces in modern metal. Blending orchestral grandeur with their signature blend of gothic and alternative metal, the album showcases a band at the peak of their creative prowess. With heavy-hitting collaborations, haunting melodies, and introspective lyricism, Sleepless Empire  is an essential listen for both longtime fans and newcomers alike. From the opening moments of "The Siege," it’s clear that Sleepless Empire  is a monumental step forward for Lacuna Coil. Founding member and primary songwriter Marco "Maki" Coti Zelati has crafted a deeply immersive soundscape, heavily inspired by film scores and horror soundtracks. Throughout the album, orchestral elements reminiscent of the composer Hans Zimmer and the progressive rock band Goblin merge seamlessly with Lacuna Coil’s established heavy guitar work and dual vocal interplay between Cristina Scabbia and Andrea Ferro. The album’s thematic core reflects a world in constant motion—always connected, yet increasingly isolated. “Our sound is dark because it reflects the society we’re living in—it’s a portrait of our times,” Ferro explains. This sense of restless urgency pulses through every track, painting a vivid picture of modern existence in a sleepless digital age. The album’s singles, "Oxygen" and "I Wish You Were Dead," deliver the perfect balance of melancholic beauty and crushing intensity. "Oxygen," in particular, stands out as a raw anthem of resilience, exploring the suffocating pressures of contemporary life. Meanwhile, the title track, "Sleepless Empire," serves as an emotional and sonic centrepiece, encapsulating the album’s overarching themes of technological alienation and personal redemption. Lacuna Coil has always been adept at choosing the right collaborators, and Sleepless Empire  features two of their most exciting guest appearances to date. "Hosting The Shadow "  sees Lamb of God’s Randy Blythe lending his signature growls to one of the album’s heaviest and most sinister moments. The contrast between his guttural roars and Scabbia’s soaring melodies makes for an electrifying listen. Blythe himself expressed his enthusiasm for the track, calling it "a long-awaited dream collaboration." Equally compelling is the track "In The Mean Time," which features New Years Day’s frontwoman, Ash Costello. The track’s title serves a dual purpose, referencing both the chaotic times we currently are living in and the transitional state the band has found itself in. Costello’s fiery vocal delivery adds a fresh dynamic, perfectly complementing Scabbia and Ferro’s established chemistry. Beyond its sonic achievements, Sleepless Empire  also makes a statement about the creative challenges of the modern world. The band worked closely with Neapolitan illustrator Roberto Toderico for the album’s artwork, emphasizing the value of handmade artistry in an era dominated by artificial intelligence. Scabbia has been vocal about her concerns regarding AI-generated content, and Sleepless Empire  stands as a testament to the human touch in music and art. In a nod to their dedication to immersive storytelling, Lacuna Coil has even included an Oracle divination game within the album’s physical packaging—further encouraging fans to engage with the record beyond just the music. With Sleepless Empire , Lacuna Coil has crafted an album that is both timely and timeless. It’s a masterclass in balancing evolution with authenticity, embracing modern influences without compromising their identity. The result is an album that feels deeply personal yet universally resonant, capturing the anxieties and hopes of a world that never stops turning. For longtime fans, Sleepless Empire  offers everything they love about Lacuna Coil—darkly poetic lyricism, lush symphonic layers, and heavy, groove-laden riffs—while also introducing fresh elements that push their sound forward. For new listeners, it’s an accessible yet powerful entry point into the band’s world. Lacuna Coil proves once again that they are masters of reinvention, offering an album that not only reflects our times but dares to challenge them too. Sleepless Empire  is a triumph of artistry, emotion, and sonic innovation—an album that refuses to let you rest, in the best possible way. Daniel recalled the pivotal moment that inspired the song during a recent studio session with his producer, Larzz. "I walked into the session and knew exactly what I wanted to write," Daniel explained. "I told Larzz the story behind the title: one day, I had a huge blowout with one of my friends. He came to me and yelled at me for an hour and a half, accusing me of being self-involved—never calling, never asking how he was, never making the effort. In the moment, I felt really defensive and denied everything he said. But a few days later, I sat with myself and thought, ‘Maybe you’re right. Maybe I am selfish.’” This moment of self-awareness became a turning point not only in Daniel's personal life but also in his creative process. He channelled the complex emotions of defensiveness, sadness, and eventual acceptance into the song. "It was a weird moment of realization and acceptance of who I was in that moment—a human being capable of making mistakes," Daniel shared. • FERGUSON Releases New Single "Never In My Life"

Today, Nashville-based, indie rock rising act FERGUSON announced the release of his new single, "Never In My Life." Produced & engineered by William Brown and released via The Orchard - listen HERE . Merging timeless classic pop, folk, and indie rock, "Never In My Life" synth’s sparkle and guitar’s jangle, filling the airways with the promise of new love. The latest from a singular singer-songwriter, who has been working on an album project, is now destined to be released later this year. In a time where joy is an ever-welcome (if not elusive) companion, “Never In My Life” offers the listener an opportunity to reflect on all things beautiful. “‘ Never In My Life’ is an ode to freshly sparked romance,” stated FERGUSON, adding “to the feeling of locking eyes from across a crowded room and knowing that, amidst the chaos, you and this person are on the same wavelength.” FERGUSON also released a video to accompany the single. Premiered exclusively by FLOOD MAGAZINE , it was directed by Casey Pierce and it features dancers: Amanda Reichert, Kristen Carrara and McKay House. Watch HERE FERGUSON’s “pushing even further into experimental pop territory and lovelorn lyricism with his new track,” stated FLOOD. “Vibrant synths, sharp guitar, and ooh-ing backing vocals all help to accent a song which effectively translates the butterflies that come with a newly unfolding courtship to music” FERGUSON will perform at New York City’s Mercury Lounge on February 11 and at Nashville’s The End on February 13. Tickets are on sale now - please visit https://fergusonsongs.com/ for more info. Brown and FERGUSON recorded the track in an attic amidst the sweltering heat of a Tennessee summer. Initially, two songs combined into one - slowly but surely it began to take shape. Between the homemade baffles and the vaulted wood ceiling, the attic provided the exact sound they were looking for. Using studio techniques inspired by the 70s, pioneered by McCartney’s experimental solo albums, they captured the analog studio synth sound, updating it for our modern age. FERGUSON (formerly Ian Ferguson) is a self-proclaimed high school dropout from a one-stoplight town outside of Nashville, he embarked on a solo career after he formed and dissolved his high school band Kingston Springs, when they were on the verge of success, with shows at Austin City Limits Music Festival, Lollapalooza, Bonnaroo lineup, and a major label deal on the table. Headstrong with a solo vision, FERGUSON’s self-released debut album State Of Gold , a breakthrough indie hit, with BILLBOARD comparing him to the “The Beatles and Brian Wilson” and SOUND OPINIONS praised his “Wonderful rootsy psychedelia meets country, that transports you to another world of the best psychedelic rock.” FERGUSON has worked hard at work on a follow-up album which will be released in 2025, and if “Never In My Life” is a measure, it’s been worth the wait. • Michigander - Self-Titled

For nearly a decade, singer-songwriter Jason Singer—better known as Michigander—has built a reputation on heartfelt lyricism, anthemic indie rock, and a growing catalogue of EPs that have resonated with fans across the country, and the across the globe. With the release of his long-awaited self-titled debut album, Michigander cements himself as one of the most earnest and affecting voices in modern indie rock. Described by Singer as the "movie version" of his story after years of releasing "television episodes" in the form of a series of EPs from 2018 to 2023, Michigander  is a collection of twelve fully realized tracks that showcase his signature mix of vulnerability, optimism, and sonic grandeur. The album brims with influences ranging from Manchester Orchestra’s swelling emotional climaxes to the blue-collar storytelling of Bruce Springsteen, all tied together by Singer’s knack for sticky hooks and cathartic choruses. The opening track, "Broadcast," immediately sets the tone with its shimmering guitars and soaring melodies, signalling Michigander’s evolution into an artist fully in command of his sound. Songs like "Emotional" and "Giving Up" further highlight his ability to craft indie pop rock anthems perfect for singing along in the car, balancing introspective lyricism with a sense of hope that never feels forced upon its listener. There’s a warmth to tracks like "Peace of Mind" and "I’ll Be Okay," where Singer leans into power pop influences akin to Winnetka Bowling League and Hippo Campus, blending earnestness with undeniably catchy songwriting. Meanwhile, tracks like "Breaker Box" and "Splitting Image" see Michigander flex his dynamic range, seamlessly shifting from hushed vulnerability to stadium-sized crescendos. Perhaps the standout moment on the album is the track, "Letterman," a song that encapsulates everything that makes Michigander’s music so magnetic—lyrical storytelling that feels deeply personal yet universally relatable, underscored by instrumentation that swells and soars with emotional weight. By the time the album closes out with the final track, "Hair," there’s no doubt that Singer has delivered a debut that is not just a statement but a promise of even greater things to come. Michigander  is an album that feels both like a homecoming and a bold step forward, solidifying Jason Singer’s place in the indie rock landscape. With its sweeping choruses, nostalgic warmth, and hopeful undercurrent, Michigander  is the perfect soundtrack for late-night drives, shared singalongs, and the inescapable search for meaning in everyday moments.
