The six-member Korean girl group released their sixth mini album, BXX, short for "Best Xriends Xorever," replacing FF with XX, the female chromosome, on March 19, 2024, through their record label RBW. It includes six songs and in angel numbers, 666 is actually a positive, one of the meanings being a sign to focus on your own life and loved ones.
The mini album starts with a slower yet still dancey English intro track, “Intro : Crush,” and the lyrics are definitely on theme, asking you to think about what it is you actually want and if it's something you really want to do, you should absolutely go for it!
Though it may just be a coincidence, even the title track, "BBB," which is up next has lyrics such as “don't be alone,” “네마음대로해도 (do what you want),” and with a play on words “bad behaviour,” you can feel the women empowerment and though maybe frowned upon, sometimes being a little naughty might not always be a completely bad thing. Plus, it doesn't hurt that while listening to this song, you'll most likely also feel like a bad b.
"BITTER SWEET" -plus the whole mini album honestly- is great if you love dance songs with meaningful lyrics and unique voices. Being true to who you are is more important than changing who you are for someone even if that means losing them, which can be bittersweet indeed, but with a vibey beat, the lyrics don't make you feel like you need to hide under a blanket with a gallon of ice cream.
Continuing on with "Toy Boy" and "Heart Attack," we have two love-driven songs with a perfect balance of Korean and English. Lastly, we have "Voyager," my favourite off of this release, a song that somehow makes you feel nostalgic, though they are singing about new beginnings. It almost makes you feel like you should be frolicking in tall grass surrounded by the prettiest flowers with perfect weather spinning around as if you were in a movie. I truly believe after just one listen to this mini album, you'll definitely add a song or two, maybe even six to your playlist.
