Saturn Retour: Reve, RALPH, and Ruby Chopstix - Winnipeg, MB

The Saturn Retour show rolled into Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada, at the Park Theatre on March 19, 2024, and it was a vibrant celebration of Canadian music, featuring the Canadian talents of Reve and RALPH, with a special performance from local drag queen Ruby Chopstix.

Ruby Chopstix kicked off the evening with a captivating drag performance, accompanied by energetic dancers during the final song, setting the stage for an exciting night ahead.

Next up to the stage was RALPH, delivering a powerful performance that showcased her unique blend of pop and electronic sounds. Her setlist included fan favourites like "1-800 HRT BRK," "GIMME," and "Sweetener," captivating the audience with her infectious energy and catchy melodies. RALPH's cover of Meredith Brooks' "Bitch" added a fun twist to the set, further highlighting her versatility as an artist.

Following RALPH, Reve took the stage with an electrifying performance that kept the energy high throughout the entire set. From the opening notes of "Tongue" to the closing anthem "CTRL + ALT + DEL," Reve's setlist was a journey through her eclectic sound, blending elements of pop, rock, and electronic music. Many highlights from Reve's set included the infectious groove of "Big Boom," the sultry vibes of "SKIN 2 SKIN," "Contemporary Love," "Disco At The Strip Club," "Past Life," "Headphones," "Whitney," and the emotional depth of her cover of Madonna's "Hung Up," which began acoustically on piano.

Reve's stage presence was captivating, drawing the audience in with every song. The performance of "Breaking Up With Jesus" stood out, blending the intro with a snippet of "Unholy" by Sam Smith and Kim Petras with Reve's own unique style, creating a memorable moment of the night. Reve also came along on tour with an unreleased song ready to perform titled, "More Than A Woman," which had fans in utter amusement to be some of the first in the world to hear the tune. The encore performance of "CTRL + ALT + DEL" was the perfect way to close the show, leaving the audience energized and wanting even more.

Overall, the Saturn Retour show was a testament to the vibrant music scene in Canada, showcasing the talent and creativity of artists like Reve and RALPH, with a special nod to the local drag queen scene with Ruby Chopstix's performance.
