- Jack Van Cleaf Releases Two Singles From His Forthcoming Sophomore Album 'JVC'
“ USING YOU” A COUNTRY WESTERN INSPIRED DRUG-LACED LOVE SONG LISTEN HERE | WATCH MUSIC VIDEO HERE “ GREEN” SONG ABOUT CLIMATE CHANGE WITH A POP-LADEN EARWORM HOOK LISTEN HERE Jack Van Cleaf released two singles from his forthcoming sophomore album, JVC. “Using You” – accompanied by a music video co-directed by Noah Tidmore and Jack Van Cleaf and premiered by Consequence Origins yesterday – is a country-western inspired love song that is cleverly laced with drug metaphors, while “Green” is a climate-conscious pop-hooked song with a bite. Both singles exemplify the sharp lyricism and range of Jack Van Cleaf, whose sophomore album JVC is set for release May 9 via Dualtone Records. Planting its flag halfway between the worlds of indie rock and Gen Z folk, the album asks big questions about identity, home, and adulthood. The album is the culmination of a journey that began during his teenage years. " This album is all about the vertigo of growing up, It's about re-defining and re-understanding yourself. " Says Jack Van Cleaf, “ I found ‘Using You’ while digging through old voice memos about a year after I had initially wrote it. When I came back to it I thought, ‘hey, this is kind of fun,’ and I think it’s maintained that spirit through the recording process, bringing a little sonic levity to the album. Thematically, it’s obviously a little heavier, using drug abuse as an extended metaphor for an addiction to love and attention, but hopefully it maintains that playful spirit even in those darker moments. My friends in Field Guide helped me realize it was a country song when we played it live for the first time at their showcase at The Basement in Nashville. I carried that approach into the studio with me when my friends and I went to Sonic Ranch to record it, and we came out of there with a song for 'JVC' that people could dance to.” Jack has also announced a spring tour kicking off April 3 through May 21 with stops including New York, Nashville, Chicago, Austin, and more; plus support by special guests Ethansroom and Emma Ogier. Tickets are on sale now. For more info, visit https://www.jackvancleaf.com/#tour . Jack Van Cleaf – described by Consequence as “ a Nashville-based artist has retained the grit and authenticity that have made him a buzzy name in Music City and beyond” was still an independent artist when “Rattlesnake” became a viral hit in 2023, earning praise from songwriters like Noah Kahan (who hand-picked Jack as the opening act on his sold-out Stick Season Tour) and Zach Bryan (who began covering the song online). For Jack, it felt like a pivotal moment in a career that had been building since his teenage years. Years after penning his first song as a high school freshman in San Diego, Jack headed east to Nashville, where he studied songwriting at Belmont University and released his debut album, Fruit from the Trees , after graduation. Jack experienced unprecedented early industry debut album buzz, drawing the attention of the likes of Noah Kahan, opening for him on Jack's first ever major US tour, as well as touring with artists from Briston Maroney to Madi Diaz. When his single “Rattlesnake” landed him a spot on Spotify's 2024 Best New Artist List with the tastemaker playlist "juniper," it drew over 13 million streams, and one fan in particular, Zach Bryan, became a major champion of Jack, covering the track on his social media. This unexpected success induced an intense period of self-doubt in Jack, " I was shell-shocked," he remembers. "I'd spent my whole life being told what to do every single day, and I always dreamed about growing up to be my own boss. Then graduation came, and I got what I wanted… but I realized I had no idea how to function on a day-to-day basis. " He regrouped and retreated to his songwriting and found solace in creating music in far-flung locations like Joshua Tree and the Texas/Mexico border, where he and producer Alberto Sewald (Katy Kirby, Sierra Hull) created this remarkable body of work. Those geographic choices were deliberate, their landscapes evoking the spiritual barrenness of Jack's lyrics. "I felt like I was staring into an emotional desert when I wrote these songs, experiencing this feeling of desolation around me and looking for little signs of life," he explains. Alongside all-star collaborations with established stars like Zach Bryan and Gatlin — who features on seize-the-day anthem "Teenage Vampire" — the album also features his closest friends, Austin Burns, Ethan Fortenberry, Hunt Pennington, Adam Carpenter, Nathan Cimino, and Aaron Krak - plus Annika Bennett and Heaven Schmitt (aka Grumpy) who contribute background vocals - whom he met during his time at Belmont University and remain part of his closest creative circle. Previously, Jack’s confessional and cathartic folk songs have garnered comparisons to sparse verses of Nathaniel Rateliff and Gregory Alan Isakov and the directness of Kris Kristofferson and Leonard Cohen. On JVC , Jack takes another approach, focusing on blurring the dividing lines between acoustic singer-songwriter and electrified indie music. The result is an expansive sound, sparse one minute and grungy the next, dreamt up by an artist who's never been afraid to write songs that shine a light on his own challenges. A sharply-written record that measures the long, winding road from past to present, deftly capturing the vertigo of early adulthood, drawing on his own struggles with his post-college success and disorientation that followed. Songs like "Green" is a climate-conscious song whose indie rock pop hooks heighten the song's activist bite and moody acoustic rocker "Shouldn't Have Gone to L.A." find Jack in transit, caught between locations without a clear anchor. His songs draw on deeply personal experiences, including a constant evolving approach to religion and the emotional gravity of young adulthood to its full. Jack recently released a new version of the single "Rattlesnake," a reimagination of his own viral hit featuring a new duet with friend and fan Zach Bryan. It also featured every musician who had appeared on the song’s first recording, a group composed of Jack’s best friends from college. Setting up shop at Electric Lady Studios, they recorded the heart of the new production live, leaning into instinct and inspiration as Zach and Jack traded off lines in the spur of the moment while co-producer Eddie Spear captured their camaraderie. On the track, Jack stated, " Zach started sharing the song on social media, then eventually sent me a DM that said, 'If you ever want to record a version of this with me, I’m in!'" Jack remembers, adding "Zach really inspired me in the studio. I was moved by his dedication to the moment and capturing something alive, rather than painstakingly pursuing perfection with endless takes. ” Zach Bryan stated on Instagram, “ To become the best of friends with people through music in the city. Think that may be the point of all this. Jack & me re-recorded one of the best written songs of all time (jack is a genius) and hope u guys listen to it. ” With JVC , Jack Van Cleaf turns personal experience into something universal: a soundtrack to the years we all spend in existential free-fall, and while he finds gravity in the chaos, he has also made an album set to establish him as one of the biggest breakout singer-songwriters of his generation. - S.G. Goodman Returns With New Album 'Planting By The Signs' Out June 20, 2025, Via Slough Water Records/Thirty Tigers
NEW SINGLE “FIRE SIGN” OUT NOW LISTEN | WATCH VIDEO Today, S.G. Goodman announces her third studio album, Planting by the Signs, due out June 20 via her very own Slough Water Records / Thirty Tigers. Her first album in three years, it is a reminder of the Kentucky born and raised singer-songwriter’s razor-sharp lyricism, singular voice and seamless blend of indie rock and subtle rural influences. Pre-order Planting by the Signs here . Out today is “Fire Sign,” the first offering from the new album, a self-reflective rocker with old time phrases and an unforgettable hook. Listen now and watch the music video here . S.G. says about “Fire Sign,” “ After touring relentlessly for 2 years, ‘living like the sun don’t shine / on the same dog’s ass everyday,’ as the song puts it, I came off the road questioning my purpose and choices. People are quick to tell you that you are not working hard enough, but slow in telling you that you are working hard enough. That seems to be up to you, as well as your ‘why?’. Despite this burnout and other personal setbacks, I found the fire to keep pushing and to make what I believe is my best record yet. ‘Who’ll put the fire out?’ The only person who can put my fire out is myself.” While on the road, promoting her debut Old Time Feeling and 2022’s Teeth Marks , she zig-zagged across the nation with a touring schedule that would make even the most seasoned road dog wince. Amidst the non-stop performances, she endured the loss of her own dog, Howard, as well as the death of her friend and mentor, Mike, who died tragically in an accident in her hometown of Murray, KY. She parted ways with long term collaborator Matt Rowan due to the strenuous nature of the road, but after the death of Mike, they reconciled. Life dealt blows, but she didn’t stop. Until she did. When she returned home to Kentucky to write the next album, she hit a wall because she hadn’t paused for years. So she took stock–a few shrooms for inspiration– got back to nature, and looked back to the ancient Appalachian wisdom of planting by the signs, i.e. the idea that cutting your hair, or laying down shingles, are best timed to lunar and planetary cycles. S.G. says, “As an 'old story keeper,' I’ve centered myself around the idea that passing down stories and sayings connects us through generations. This notion was a driving force in the creation of this album as a whole, as I was compelled to share the concept of planting by the signs with my nieces and nephews.” The result is eleven tracks of her best material yet. Inspired by love, loss, reconciliation, and the aforementioned ancient practice, highlighted by the critically-acclaimed and award-winning artist’s singular voice and her penchant for juxtaposing vulnerable folk music with punchy rock ‘n roll, replete with chiming guitars, ethereal atmospherics, and her DIY ethos. Goodman provides a timely reminder that the only way forward is together, and that we must always take into account humanity’s dependence on and responsibility to the natural world. In the fall of 2024, Goodman decamped to the Nutt House in Sheffield, AL, alongside co-producer Drew Vandenberg (her co-producer on 2022’s Teeth Marks) , guitarist/songwriter Matt Rowan, her longtime musical collaborator with whom she parted ways and then reconciled in the span between albums. With her two collaborators and a cast of musical characters, including Goodman tracked what is by no exaggeration her best record to date. With songs like “Fire Sign,” “Satellite,” “Snapping Turtle,” “Michael Told Me,” “Heaven” and “I’m In Love,” Planting by the Signs finds Goodman exploring this old story and other themes in the only way she knows; with a fresh musical and lyrical perspective, vivid, incisive detail, and a heaping dose of empathy and compassion. ABOUT S.G. GOODMAN: Kentucky-born and raised indie rocker S.G. Goodman catapulted on to the scene in 2020 with her debut album Old Time Feeling – possibly the worst time to emerge, and yet, her talent was undeniable. She immediately garnered attention from NPR, Rolling Stone, and more, and took her show on the road across the world, gaining fans and followers, even landing a fan in Tyler Childers, who covered her song “Space And Time” from her debut. “Space And Time” was also covered by Mereba and Dev Hynes/Blood Orange for the Paul Schrader film Master Gardner. In 2022, she released Teeth Marks , a critical darling that leveled her up, gaining praise from the New York Times, landing her an NPR Tiny Desk, landing on Pitchfork and NPR’s Best Of lists, and earning her the Best Emerging Artist Award at the 2023 Americana Awards. She clocked over 150 performances in 2023 alone, including headlining sold-out tours and opening for the likes of Tyler Childers and Jason Isbell from Red Rocks to the Grand Ole’ Opry. Now, after a fruitful reprieve, S.G. Goodman is back and better than ever. - Allegaeon - The Ossuary Lens
For nearly two decades, Allegaeon has been a band in perpetual evolution. The Fort Collins-based technical death metal titans have consistently pushed boundaries, blending melody with blistering precision, and their seventh full-length, The Ossuary Lens , set for release on April 4, 2025, once again through Metal Blade Records, is no exception whatsoever. This time, however, it’s more than just another chapter—it’s a full-circle moment. With the return of original vocalist Ezra Haynes, The Ossuary Lens marks a significant shift in Allegaeon’s trajectory. While the band’s last three albums explored a more polished vocal approach, Haynes’ reintegration brings back the unrelenting aggression that defined their earlier work. It’s a reunion that feels both nostalgic and reinvigorating, delivering an album that masterfully fuses the band’s past and present. Though not a concept album in the strictest sense, The Ossuary Lens revolves around different perspectives on death. “Each song essentially is a different topic, however, there is always a different perspective of death tied to each subject,” explains Haynes. This thematic cohesion gives the album a haunting and cerebral quality, enhancing its brutal yet thought-provoking nature. Tracks like “Chaos Theory” dive into Allegaeon’s signature fusion of technical wizardry and lyrical depth, while Tracks like “Refraction” and “Dark Matter Dynamics” (featuring acoustic guitarist Adrian Bellue) introduce unexpected sonic textures, proving that the band still thrives on experimentation. Meanwhile, “Driftwood” showcases a rare instance of revisiting old material, with bassist Brandon Michael reworking a piece originally written for Apoptosis . From the outset, The Ossuary Lens is a tour de force of technical proficiency. Greg Burgess and Michael Stancel’s guitar work remains unparalleled, seamlessly weaving neoclassical flourishes into razor-sharp riffing. The lead single, “The Swarm”, exemplifies this; its frantic intro conceived on a rainy night in Bristol, UK—an anecdote that highlights the band’s ability to channel real-life chaos into sonic ferocity. Jeff Saltzman’s drumming is relentless, propelling tracks like “Dies Irae” and “Imperial” with machine-like precision. Brandon Michael’s bass lines, meanwhile, offer a rich counterpoint to the intricate guitar work, solidifying the album’s rhythmic depth. Allegaeon has long excelled at balancing melody and technicality, and The Ossuary Lens is perhaps their most refined execution of this formula. While the album is undoubtedly punishing, its melodic undercurrents add a layer of accessibility without compromising intensity. Haynes’ vocals—raw, visceral, and commanding—anchor the compositions, ensuring that each track hits with emotional weight. Once again, the band partnered with longtime producer Dave Otero at Flatline Audio, a collaboration spanning seventeen years. Otero’s understanding of Allegaeon’s sound is evident in the clarity and balance of the mix—each instrument is given space to breathe, allowing the technical intricacies to shine without overwhelming the listener. Simply put, The Ossuary Lens is Allegaeon at their most cohesive and formidable. It’s a record that honors their past while forging ahead with newfound intensity. With Haynes back in the fold and the band firing on all cylinders, The Ossuary Lens is not just a return—it’s a rebirth. Check out more from Allegaeon: Website | Instagram

- Pleasure Pill Announce Debut Album 'Hang A Star' Out June 27, 2025, Via à La Carte Records, Release New Single "Line Up The Stars"
LISTEN TO TIMELESS NEW SINGLE “LINE UP THE STARS” OUT NOW A CRISP, HARMONY-DRENCHED TRACK SWIRLING IN A MIX OF POWER-POP EXUBERANCE AND BAGGY SWAGGER BE TRANSPORTED BACK TO 1992 WITH THEIR AWESOME MUSIC VIDEO HERE We regret to inform you that you now have a life-long fandom of the most dangerous band in San Diego, Pleasure Pill - a moody indie rock band with stadium-sized ambition, who today announced the release of their debut studio album Hang A Star . Showcasing timeless Brit pop with indie rock swagger, it’s set for release on June 27, 2025, via à La Carte Records – pre-order here . Further your reckless purist of hedonistic abandon with their new single “Line Up The Stars,” a crisp, harmony-drenched track swirling in a mix of power-pop exuberance and baggy swagger. Pleasure Pill’s introspective lyrics depict adolescent wanderlust, a curious combo destined to launch them to the stars. “With it’s bright and upbeat nature, ‘Line Up The Stars’ was always meant to be the lead single,” says frontman Jonah Paz. “Meant for the dance floor at midnight, it’s our take on club meets rock’n’roll.” Pleasure Pill picks up where Brit-pop left off, but this time with better haircuts, and sound designed to entangle you from the very first note. Following in the footsteps of Britpop brother bands of the ‘90s, lead singer Jonah Paz and brother Ethan (rhythm guitar) formed the band in mid-2021 with friends they grew up with in San Diego’s underground scene. Together, they overcame their sibling rivalries and dreamed of big success and world domination, in between skating, going to DIY punk gigs, and putting on shows in their community centers. Within a few years, the band has already captured the attention of tastemakers and media, and received high praise on previous releases including the psych-infused single “ Wonder How ” and their blazing full-length live album Heaven Can Wait , which was recorded during a buzzy NYC club residency last year. All of this helped the band to quickly build a local following and turn it into national music industry buzz. They were courted by every major record label, who initially blew hot and then cold when the pandemic hit and fewer chances were taken on bands without a viral social moment to show proof of concept. Undeterred, they decided to stay true to their indie roots and wrote songs inspired by British music from the invasion era classic pop to seminal ‘90s bands like Primal Scream and the Stone Roses. While clear sonic reference points, their songs never become pastiche but live in the current underground of contemporary indie rock and hit you like an intravenous shot of dopamine. If you dare, watch this band on upcoming tour dates supporting Sid Simons and Benches , as well as headline dates in New York (soon to be announced.) - Kami Kehoe, Ekoh, and Colorblind Escape The Chaos On New Single "Safehouse"
Listen HERE | Watch HERE Proceeds Pledged To Aid California Wildfire Recovery Three of the most electrifying forces in the alternative and hip-hop scenes — Kami Kehoe , Ekoh , and Colorblind — come together for the first time on their powerful new single, " Safehouse ". A genre-bending anthem for anyone searching for refuge in chaos, this new track introduces Kami Kehoe as the latest addition to the Cupid Theory management roster, where she joins fellow " Safehouse " collaborator Colorblind . Watch the new video for " Safehouse " HERE Amidst the hellish landscape of the recent California wildfires, this tight-knit collective escaped to Las Vegas to weather the storm. What emerged from that time was " Safehouse ," a brooding, hard rock monument born from chaos and resilience. In a powerful act of solidarity, Kami Kehoe , Ekoh , and Colorblind will be donating all royalties from " Safehouse " to those impacted by the California wildfires. Looking back at the making of " Safehouse ," the voices behind the track spoke about what made this collaboration so special: "When the fires happened in LA I evacuated to Vegas and ended up meeting some incredible people. Ekoh, Travis from colorblind, Curt Martin, and now my manager, Kyle. We were all in shock from what was happening, I remember we were all just sitting there talking about how unreal everything felt, and constantly checking to see if our homes and friends were safe. But during such a tragic time we were able to make something so beautiful from it. All of us together ended up making such a powerful song that will hopefully help anyone who needs it. And even though the fires have stopped, there are still tons of people who are suffering, so we want to help as much as we can and give all of the royalties to the victims of the LA wildfires." - Kami Kehoe "When the LA wildfires hit in January, the three of us ended up in Vegas, just trying to process everything and figure out our next move. It was a pretty scary situation, but making music together gave us a way to escape for a minute and put all that fear and uncertainty into something real. That song became more than just a track—it captured what we were feeling in that moment, and hopefully, it can do the same for anyone else who ever finds themselves in a situation like that." - Ekoh "Just by the energy in the room when we started this song I could tell it was going to be special. Having to evacuate LA was an experience that none of us were expecting, and getting to cope with that anxiety by making music with my friends is something that I’m so grateful for. We hope you feel this song as much as we did. - Benicio Bryant Releases New Single "Goodie Bag," A New Track From The Forthcoming EP 'POPSTAR' Out April 25, 2025
Today, 20-year-old artist and model Benicio Bryant has released the brand new single “Goodie Bag.” The sexy pop bob draws the listener in almost like a queer siren call and combined with the irresistible beat makes you want to put the track on repeat over and over. Listen to “Goodie Bag” HERE When writing “Goody Bag,” Benicio recollects, “When we wrote this song, we had the production but were struggling with the lyrics and we decided we needed just a funny line or concept to lift with the production. I had the melody, and all of a sudden I burst out, ‘come reach in my goodie bag’. We just thought that was so funny and loved it. It means, let's get it on, stop pretending - we've liked each other for a long time, let's just do something about it, let's act on it. That's exactly what it means.” The sultry, sweet song is the latest release from Benicio’s highly anticipated forthcoming debut POPSTAR EP and follows his recent “Gameboy” release, which was featured on Ones To Watch. It is another gem in the masterpiece that will be the upcoming EP. The track was written because Benicio isn’t necessarily the stay-out-at-night, club kid. He wanted to write a song for all of those kids (and adults) who party the introverted way - at home! The song is for all the homebody’s out there who celebrate the school or work week with another pop culture favorite - video games. For the production, Benicio wanted to channel harsh, digital sounds to embody the digital nature of the lyrics. Benicio says of the writing process, “I just loved the idea of making this song a vocal trap song. Like ‘ga-a-ame.’ I liked it sounding synthetic, and very fake. Like I liked it sounding like digital. Some of the sounds are scary and abrupt, I think that’s good, it’s fun! Pop isn’t supposed to be perfect, it’s supposed to be risky and a party.” Listen to “Gameboy” HERE & Watch lyric video HERE Rounding out the already released bangers that will be featured on the POPSTAR EP is the title track. “Popstar” is a future club classic that is a love letter to Benicio’s inner popstar and a song that rivals the divadom of Kim Petras and Dua Lipa. Channeling club beats adjacent to Troye Sivan’s and the disco retro vibes of Conan Gray, Benicio is unapologetic with his undeniable star power. On “Popstar,” Bryant said “‘Popstar’ is being in love with the best version of you, and future versions of you. It’s looking forward to only getting better and seeing yourself grow into more of a force, imagining the possibilities. Everybody has a pop star.” Listen to “Popstar” HERE & Watch music video HERE About Benicio Bryant: Through working with collaborators, an abundance of time to grow post-America’s Got Talent, and life experience under his belt, Benicio is ready to unleash his first body of work in his EP POPSTAR . A dedication to pop music, POPSTAR calls to fans around the world who are glued together by the bonds of icons, bangers, and glitter. With creative, catchy melodies and earworm lyricism that mix flawlessly with the production of the tracks, this EP is bound to captivate audiences through his vibrant, bold and rich appearance and aesthetic, furthering his brand with a social presence of youthful authenticity. Obsessed with Lady Gaga, he posted early videos with his guitar to YouTube, catching the attention of The Voice Kids Germany and placing second on the show. In the wake of his success across the pond, America’s Got Talent invited him to audition, and he reached the finals where America embraced him and he garnered a strong, dedicated fanbase. Besides providing him with a young career and an early fanbase, The America’s Got Talent fame led to an automatic record deal with SYCO Records. When the label dissolved in 2020, he was handed off to another Sony label. In 2022, Bryant was dropped by his label at 19, but after a brief period of confusion and disillusionment as a young artist developing his own creative vision, he realized this was the moment for him to find his own voice and his most authentic self. As part of the process of discovering his creativity without any interruption, Bryant worked with an array of industry talents after parting ways with major labels. First with singer/songwriter, Audrey Mika who he teamed up with to release their smash “Move to Mars” in 2023. Next, with Tommy Driscoll (Kiiara), Nick Sadler (Frawley) Ale Alberti (Becky G, Bryce Vine, Jennifer Lopez), Will Leong (Emotional Oranges, Gallant) forming a group of inspirations and collaborators who would produce a series of his most authentic releases over the next year. He eventually met his executive producers Theo and the Climb (Paris Hilton, Red Velvet) and writer Matt Hall (Gayle, Alexander Stewart) who found that inner popstar in him again and have co-written and produced Benicio’s best work to date. Today, his dedicated followers have amassed 102K followers on Instagram, 65K followers on Tik Tok and over 13k followers on Spotify. His musician fans range from Kim Petras to Queen Latifah. Just this year alone, Bryant has been churning out one banger after another. “Regina” gave tributes to the Y2K classic “Mean Girls” with a smart and snarky spin of hip-hop, while summer jam “Lips” highlighted Bryant’s personal brand of electro pop. “Polite,” the latest single ahead of “Popstar,” channeled retro-disco with Bryant’s honey - smooth vocal. As an independent artist, he’s learned to express himself freely in his aesthetic, fashion, lyric and production. Now knowing himself more clearly, at 20 years old, he’s ready to show the world who he is and what he can do with POPSTAR . - BRKN LOVE - The Program
With The Program , BRKN LOVE tears up their own blueprint and rebuilds themselves from the ground up—louder, bolder, and with swagger to spare. On their third full-length studio release, set for public consumption on March 28, 2025, via Spinefarm Records, frontman Justin Benlolo and company crank the amps, loosen the restraints, and deliver a twelve-song collection that sounds like pure liberation. It’s rock ‘n’ roll in its most visceral form: honest, gritty, catchy as hell, and injected with a fresh dose of soul and playfulness. From the opening moments of “20/20 Vision”—a roaring, bass-driven banger co-written with Queens of the Stone Age bassist Michael Shuman—you know BRKN LOVE are playing for keeps. That riff alone could fill an arena, and the chorus feels both familiar and timeless, capturing the tension between nostalgia and forward motion. It’s not just a highlight of the album; it’s a mission statement. The beauty of The Program is that it never settles into one lane. On “Diamonds,” the band infuses their core rock sound with touches of R&B and soul influences, showing off their ability to evolve without losing their identity. The groove is undeniable, and the message—that greatness lies within, if we’d only stop holding ourselves back—lands with an empowering punch. “Unholy” and “Callous” dive into darker, more vulnerable territory, with Justin laying his flaws bare for all. Whether he’s lamenting self-sabotage or bracing for an emotional breakdown, the melodies remain big and infectious, giving weight to the confessions. And then there's the track, “Cruel,” where shimmering beats and woozy vocal lines collide into one of the catchiest choruses BRKN LOVE has ever crafted. The imagery is vivid—a broken romance unfolding on Hollywood and Highland—but the emotion is universal. The album’s midsection sees the band stretch their creative muscles even further. “Pulling Leeches” is raw, dirty, and bluesy in the best way—recorded in one take at Foo Fighters’ legendary Studio 606, it buzzes with live-wire energy and gritty defiance. Tracks like “12 Wings” and “Wisdom Teeth” balance that raw power with clever lyrical touches and massive hooks that will have crowds shouting along once the band gets to tour this new material. And when you think they’ve exhausted all their tricks, BRKN LOVE delivers the tune, “Shades of You”—a spiritual sequel to the fan-favourite, “Like A Drug.” It’s pure rock ‘n’ roll euphoria, complete with shredding solos and an adrenaline rush of a double-time outro. With the album's penultimate track, "Break The Same," the band delivers one final trick, taking on a full-blown pop-rock anthem in the vein of Fall Out Boy's Save Rock and Roll era . Whereas, the closing track “Shiver” is the perfect bookend: cathartic, soaring, and full of resolve. It’s the sound of letting go, of finally standing tall, and it leaves you wanting to hit the repeat button. Producer Anton DeLost (Saint Asonia, The Warning, Highly Suspect) once again proves to be the ideal collaborator, capturing the band’s energy without polishing away the grit. Every riff is punchy, every chorus explodes, and every track feels alive. Ultimately, The Program is BRKN LOVE’s most confident and freewheeling album yet—a record that shrugs off genre expectations and embraces pure instinct. It’s the sound of a band finding their truest voice, and inviting you to turn it up, get lost in it, and feel a little freer yourself. - Killswitch Engage, Kublai Khan, Fit For A King, and Frozen Soul - Winnipeg, MB
Metal fans in Winnipeg were treated to an unforgettable sold-out night of bone-crushing breakdowns, high-energy anthems, and passionate performances as Killswitch Engage, Kublai Khan, Fit For A King, and Frozen Soul took over the Burton Cummings Theatre on March 24, 2025. The diverse lineup brought together metalcore, death metal, and hardcore influences, creating an electric atmosphere that had the crowd moshing, headbanging, and singing along from start to finish. Frozen Soul. Photos by Samuel Stevens. Kicking off the night was Texas-based death metal powerhouse Frozen Soul, whose crushing setlist set the tone for an evening of unrelenting heaviness. Opening with "Encased in Ice," the band wasted no time in bringing their signature brand of icy brutality to the stage. Tracks like "Death and Glory" and "Arsenal of War" had the audience throwing up horns and diving into the pit, while "Crypt of Ice" closed out their set with a menacing intensity. Their mix of old-school death metal and modern aggression proved to be the perfect appetizer for what was to come. Fit For A King. Photos by Samuel Stevens. Next up was metalcore stalwarts Fit For A King, delivering a dynamic and emotionally charged performance that kept the energy levels high. Opening with "The Hell We Create," the band showcased their knack for balancing melody with crushing heaviness. "Reaper" and "Breaking The Mirror" had the entire venue shaking, while "When Everything Means Nothing" turned the crowd into a choir of voices screaming the lyrics in unison. The set reached its climax with "God of Fire," which saw the pit explode with ferocity. Ryan Kirby’s vocals were impeccable, shifting seamlessly between guttural growls and soaring cleans, solidifying their place as one of modern metalcore’s elite. Kublai Khan. Photos by Samuel Stevens. Kublai Khan took the stage next, and from the first note of "Supreme Ruler," the venue erupted into chaos. Their brutal, no-frills approach to hardcore resonated deeply with the crowd, as "Boomslang" and "Darwinism" fueled relentless moshing. The band’s aggressive stage presence, led by vocalist Matt Honeycutt’s commanding delivery, made every breakdown feel like a sledgehammer to the chest, and that filthy bass tone certainly helped. By the time they reached "The Hammer," the entire room was moving, with "Self-Destruct," "Antpile," and "Antpile 2" closing out their set in a flurry of crowdsurfing and circle pits. Kublai Khan’s set was a testament to the raw power of hardcore at its most unfiltered. Finally, it was time for the legendary Killswitch Engage to take the Burton Cummings Theatre stage, and they did so in grand fashion, launching straight into "Strength of the Mind" with the precision and energy that has made them one of metalcore’s most enduring acts. Jesse Leach’s vocals soared through "Rose of Sharyn" and "Fixation on the Darkness," while Adam Dutkiewicz’s frenetic guitar work kept the crowd engaged. Killswitch Engage. Photos by Samuel Stevens. Their set was a perfect balance of old and new, with "Beyond the Flames" and "Hate by Design" representing their more recent output, while classics like "My Curse" and "The End of Heartache" sent the crowd into a frenzy. The emotional weight of "The Arms of Sorrow" was palpable, and when they closed with "My Last Serenade," the entire theatre was singing along, fists in the air. This show was nothing short of a masterclass in heavy music, with each band bringing their own unique style to the table. Whether it was the chilling death metal of Frozen Soul, the anthemic metalcore of Fit For A King, the hardcore fury of Kublai Khan, or the legendary presence of Killswitch Engage, every moment was a testament to the power of live metal. Winnipeg’s metal community showed up in force to sell out the show, proving once again that the city is more than ready for the heaviest of tours. This was a night that will be talked about for years to come.
- CMAT Announces New Album 'EURO-COUNTRY' Out August 29, 2025, via AWAL; Shares New Single "Running/Planning"
WATCH OR LISTEN TO "RUNNING/PLANNING" Today, Irish country-pop superstar CMAT announces her new album EURO-COUNTRY , her “most important record” to date, set for release on August 29 via AWAL. It’s accompanied by the new single " Running/Planning ," which is out now. She also unveils a mammoth run of UK live dates - including a high-profile Glastonbury slot and her biggest headliners to date: London’s O2 Academy Brixton and Dublin’s 3 Arena. On “Running/Planning,” which premiered today on BBC Radio 1’s Hottest Record, CMAT says: "Running/Planning’ is about having to chase your own tail to be good enough to exist. It’s an abstracted view of societal pressure on women - specifically through a relationship lens: You start dating someone, you get engaged, you get married, you have kids, etc, etc, etc… everything has to follow this linear pattern. (That’s the reason for the repetitive chorus!). And the minute you don’t follow that path, your mam starts giving out to you. That narrow path that everyone is supposed to be on… the minute you get outside of that, it gets incredibly stressful. And I don’t know anyone who is like, ‘Yeah, love this!" Despite this being her third album, this fully-formed, acronymic star feels like she’s been part of the culture forever. EURO-COUNTRY follows 2023’s brilliant Crazymad, For Me - an album that propelled her to wider attention and garnered numerous accolades including: a BRITs Best International Artist nod; and ‘Best Album’ nominations from the Ivors ; Mercury Prize and the Choice Music Prize in her native Ireland (an award she won for her debut, If My Wife New I’d Be Dead) . Press, radio, and television have all been integral in her rise, with numerous covers, five-star reviews, playlists, Maida Vale sessions, and TV appearances, including Jools Holland (both Later… and a memorable turn on his Hootenanny) and The Graham Norton Show . A relentless touring schedule with The Very Sexy CMAT Band has cemented her reputation as one of the best live acts around. n’t know anyone who is like, ‘Yeah, love this!" The new album - released via AWAL Recordings - was recorded in New York and co-produced by long-time collaborator Oli Deakin and CMAT. EURO-COUNTRY tackles a number of big themes including personal reflections on economics, identity, and grief. It marks another step in the unstoppable rise of CMAT and cements her position as a generational songwriter. What has endeared fans to her heart-sore tunes and humor is Ciara Mary-Alice Thompson’s ability to combine contradictory themes and moods: wide-eye drama with self-deprecation; the fusion of country and pop, with even more influences stretching across decades and genres. EURO-COUNTRY is no different: an aural tight-rope walk that balances big themes, specifically: the impact of economics on a small country, the attention that comes with increased fame (not all of it good), and being a woman. Speaking about the LP, CMAT said: “ EURO-COUNTRY is, I think, the best thing I have ever made. I felt halfway through recording it was the most important record I’ve made for myself… mainly because it was making me go crazy " “I'm always going to make the work I want to make, because there is a little gremlin in my head that tells me if it’s shit. More than success, there’s a bigger gremlin that wants me to make music that’s really good. She’s brutal and has ruined my life at times, but she is the keeper of my life, and she’s always right .” European/UK Tour Dates 2025 May 23rd - Wide Awake Festival, London, UK May 25th - Neighbourhood Festival, Warrington, UK Jun 5th - Primavera, Barcelona, ESP Jun 6th - London Stadium, London, UK Jun 12th - St James Park, Newcastle, UK Jun 14th - St James Park, Newcastle, UK Jun 15th - St James Park, Newcastle, UK Jun 27th - Glastonbury, UK Jul 12th - NOS, Lisbon, POR Jul 26th - Truck Festival, Oxfordshire, UK Jul 27th - Tramlines Festival, Sheffield, UK Aug 1st - Belladrum Tartan Heart, Belladrum, UK Aug 2nd - All Together Now, Waterford, IRE Aug 7th - Syd For Solen, Copenhagen, DEN Aug 8th - Way Out West, Gothenburg, SWE Aug 14th - Cabaret Vert, Charleville Mezieres, FR Aug 15th - Lowlands, Biddinghuizen, NL Aug 16th - Green Man Festival, Crickhowell, UK Aug 28th - Boucher Playing Fields, Belfast, UK * Oct 2nd - O2 Academy Brixton, London, UK Oct 4th - Academy, Manchester, UK Oct 5th - O2 Academy, Leeds, UK Oct 6th - NX, Newcastle, UK Oct 9th - Barrowland Ballroom, Glasgow, UK Oct 12th - Rock City, Nottingham, UK Oct 13th - Corn Exchange, Cambridge, UK Oct 15th - Dome Concert Hall, Brighton, UK Oct 16th - O2 Institute, Birmingham, UK Oct 17th - UEA, Norwich, UK Oct 19th - Octagon, Sheffield, UK Oct 20th - O2 Academy, Bristol, UK Dec 5th - 3Arena, Dublin, IRE * Supporting Sam Fender Pre-Orders of EURO-COUNTRY are available from the CMAT store on the following physical formats: limited colored double vinyl, standard double vinyl, CD, and tape: https://cmat.ffm.to/EURO-COUNTRY

This record is Arch Enemy at their most ferocious, creative, and unapologetically powerful. From the very first notes of "Dream Stealer," Arch Enemy set the tone: blistering speed, razor-sharp riffs, and that signature balance between brutality and melody that Michael Amott pioneered back in the Black Earth days. The track erupts with intensity and reminds listeners exactly why this band remains untouchable in the genre. Amott’s guitar work dances between complexity and memorability, while Alissa White-Gluz’s vocals are a force of nature. "Illuminate the Path" is a standout—not only for its melodic hook but for White-Gluz’s clean-sung chorus, which they did on a track on the last album, is a bold move that pushes Arch Enemy’s sound forward without losing their core identity. It’s both anthemic and sinister, demonstrating the band’s ability to evolve while remaining unmistakably themselves. "March of the Miscreants" is a thundering call to arms, embodying the band’s enduring underground spirit. Amott’s lyrics and riffs here pay tribute to the underdog mentality that has defined their career—an unrelenting drive to stay authentic in a world where metal often gets overlooked by the mainstream. "A Million Suns" and "Don't Look Down" deliver mid-tempo, groove-laden punches with thick atmospheres, while "Presage" acts as a short, dark instrumental interlude driven by a haunted duel between a cello and acoustic guitar, building tension before the album’s centrepiece: "Blood Dynasty." The title track is an atmospheric slow-burn—Amott wasn’t kidding when he described it as a "dystopian soundscape." It’s menacing yet melodic, pulling listeners into a cinematic swirl of riffs and tension that explodes into grandeur. The band also throws a fun curveball with "Vivre Libre," a French hard rock ballad originally by '80s metal outfit Blaspheme. Sung entirely in French by White-Gluz—who grew up in Quebec—it’s a moment of pure passion that feels both daring and effortless—the kind of risk that lesser bands wouldn’t take on their twelfth album, but Arch Enemy embraces it with confidence. It also marks the first time the band has put a cover in the main tracklist of an album and not as a bonus track. "Paper Tiger" and "The Pendulum" bring the album’s final act to life with dizzying riffs and thundering grooves, before the album's closing track, "Liars & Thieves," sends it all home with explosive speed and an irresistible melodic hook that’s destined to become a live staple. The crowd chants practically write themselves. Produced by the renowned metal producer Jens Bogren, the album sounds colossal. The mix is tight and layered, with every detail shining through—from Daniel Erlandsson’s pummeling drums to Sharlee D’Angelo’s thunderous bass and Joey Concepcion’s fluid leads that perfectly complement Amott’s virtuosity. What’s most impressive about Blood Dynasty is how Arch Enemy still manages to sound hungry and inventive without abandoning the foundation they laid nearly thirty years ago. They’re not chasing trends, nor are they watering down their ferocity. Instead, they double down on what makes them great while sprinkling in surprises to keep things fresh. This album isn’t about reinvention—it’s about perfecting the craft, and Blood Dynasty feels like the crowning jewel in an already legendary discography. As they approach their thirtieth anniversary, Arch Enemy have delivered an album that stands tall alongside classics like Wages of Sin and War Eternal —a testament to their unwavering spirit and endless drive. Blood Dynasty is a thunderous celebration of everything Arch Enemy stands for: jaw-dropping musicianship, unstoppable energy, and an undying passion for, as they would declare as "pure fucking metal." Thirty years in, they’re still leading the charge—and showing absolutely no signs of slowing down. Check out more from Arch Enemy: Website | Facebook | Twitter | Instagram | TikTok
- A Nice Place To Visit Tour: Goody Grace and GMH - Winnipeg, MB
On March 16, 2025, Winnipeg’s Park Theatre felt more like a dark, hazy basement than a concert venue—intimate, warm, and buzzing with hometown pride as Goody Grace returned to his home province for the A Nice Place To Visit Tour. The night celebrated not just his latest record, but his evolution as an artist, with a full-album performance followed by throwbacks that left long-time fans grinning ear to ear. GMH. Photos by Samuel Stevens Photography Before Goody took the stage, fellow Manitoba talent GMH set the perfect tone for the night. Although his setlist wasn’t fully known to most in the crowd, it didn’t matter—his sincerity shone through. Highlights included a hauntingly beautiful cover of The Tragically Hip’s “Wheat Kings,” a nod to Canadian roots that had the audience swaying in unison. “Ghost” and “Love Song” showcased GMH’s knack for emotional storytelling, while covers like Zach Bryan's “Hey Driver” and Noah Kahan's “Growing Sideways” added unexpected but welcome depth to his set. His mix of originals and carefully chosen covers proved he’s a local artist well worth following. Then came the moment everyone was waiting for: Goody Grace stepping onto the Park Theatre stage, greeted with cheers that could only come from a hometown crowd. Starting with the reflective track “Soliloquy,” he set the scene for a deeply personal performance. The live rendition of A Nice Place To Visit felt both cinematic and vulnerable—“Quarter Life Stagnation” hit especially hard, resonating with a crowd of young adults who understand that sense of restless limbo all too well. Goody Grace. Photos by Samuel Stevens Photography Standout moments included “People Are Alike All Over,” where Goody’s signature mix of indie, folk, and alt influences blended seamlessly; and “Eveline,” performed with palpable tenderness. During “Breathe on My Own,” the room felt silent and still—a collective moment of pause before the title track, “A Nice Place to Visit,” wrapped up the album portion of the show with grandeur and gratitude. But Goody wasn’t done yet. The rest of his set leaned into nostalgia and connection. “On Repeat” and “Grape Swisher” felt like love letters to longtime fans. The medley of “Girls In The Suburbs Singing Smiths Songs” into “Too High” had the crowd singing every word. He closed the night with the perfect one-two punch: “Pretend” and “Scumbag,” with the latter ending on a surprise snippet of his most loved track, “Two Shots,” reminding everyone just how far he’s come—from SoundCloud beginnings to a sold-out hometown show celebrating his most fully realized project to date. The night was more than just a concert; it was a homecoming, a reflection, and a reminder that while Goody Grace might be touring A Nice Place To Visit, for one night in Winnipeg, he was exactly where he belonged.
- Interview With Wyatt Espalin
How would you describe your music to any person who may have never heard it before? Wyatt: I grew up on old country music and traditional bluegrass. I play fiddle but my focus in on the song and songwriting. Many influences rise to the top. I'm definitely a quintessential Americana music listener and artist. I fit directly beneath that umbrella. What's the significance of your musical moniker? W: I just use my name, but I call my band The Riverstones. I'm a river rat and kayaker. What are your musical influences? W: I love emotional songwriting in the vein of Patty Griffin, Lucinda Williams, and Jason Isbell. What are your musical inspirations? W: I'm inspired by live performance. I try and go to see a show at the Ryman every year and Red Rocks. Artists seem to step up their game when performing in those venues. I love to hear how the song evolves from the recording to the stage. Most of my songs live on stage long before I lay them down in a studio. If given the chance, what musician(s) would you like to collaborate with? Rather this is to either write a song or be featured on a track. W: I would love to collaborate with Jenny Lewis, Sierra Ferrell, or Band of Horses. What's your brand new song about? W: My new single "Liar" is a straightforward confrontation to someone who was trusted and obviously, couldn't bear the weight of the trust. It's also a song I wrote for myself to keep my own honesty and integrity in check. What's something you hope people take away from the new single and the songs of your forthcoming album? W: I hope they resonate with the emotion in the lyrics. That they may find themselves and be encouraged to take better care of themselves. We all beat ourselves up about the smallest things and we live with that trauma of our own guilt and shame. I hope these songs on the new album -which will be released later this year- will take listeners on a journey and see how to find their humanity and the humanity of others in the loneliness and isolation this world often provides. Which songs on the album were the most fun to write and which were the most challenging to write? W: I work with a program called Warrior Week, which enlists songwriters to meet with veterans and discuss acclimating to civilian life and the struggles they have communicating with their families and friends who don't understand the culture the vets lived with for years. And it is a struggle once they are out of service. Finding a purpose in their life away from their rankings, brother and sisterhood, and the awful things they witnessed while deployed or in training seems so difficult for most of them. Therapeutic songwriting has transformed these wonderful people right before my eyes. I have a song I wrote while working with the program, "Wishes In a Well," that I recorded for the album. It was most challenging because of the deep emotion surrounding the context. Years lost. We all experience that. The most fun one to write was "I Done Told Y'uns," which was inspired by my Granddaddy who raised me and his fear that me and my brother might end up like our parents -wild, drunken sinners [Laughs]. I used to work in church in my early days as a youth leader. I turned this song, basically a list of warnings from my Grandad into a swampy, gospel-style hell-fire and brimstone epic! Amy Ray of Indigo Girls, one of my favorite voices and writers makes an appearance and channels the intensity of the fear of sin. Do you have any favourite song or songs off the new album? W: Hmm... My favourite has changed as the songs evolved from stage to studio. I'm most proud of the closing song, "You Had It All." I think it's one of the best songs I've ever written. It came from a pure place and it feels that way. It's a crowd favourite too. What's the new album about? W: Lies From the Lonesome Valley is the album title. I'm releasing it on September 5, 2025. Eleven songs or stories, maybe true, maybe not. Either way, the tales come from a weary traveller winding around to the end of a long trek. These songs are his observations along the way and the proof that he experienced, felt, cried, laughed, sang, hurt, hungered, walked, ran, rested and loved. Do you have any favourite songs to perform live? Could be your own music or even a cover. Any reason why? W: The new single "Liar" is fun because it's so confrontational. And I'll look you in the eye from the stage when I sing it. If you could perform a show this very second anywhere in the world, where would it be? W: Red Rocks. Is there any particular venue(s) or city/cities that comes to mind? W: Nashville, of course! The Ryman. I love Wolf Trap in Virginia. I'd like to perform at the Hollywood Bowl. I was born in Los Angeles and my Grandma is still there. She could come see me! What do you currently have planned for the remainder of the year? W: Releasing seven singles and then the album. I have a lot of shows scattered all over but no real long tour. I promote my own concert series "Acoustic Sunsets" at the Georgia Mountain Fairgrounds in Hiawassee, GA -the town where I was raised. I'll host fifteen shows there this year in addition to four festivals. Thanks for the time, Wyatt. Is there anything else you may want to add before you go? W: Yeah. I call them lies, but it's all true.
- Molotov Solution - Void EP
More than a decade after they helped define politically charged deathcore with Insurrection , Molotov Solution has returned with Void — a five-track statement of power, purpose, and pure devastation. Self-released on March 21, 2025, it was produced by genre heavyweight Will Putney (Fit For An Autopsy, Thy Art Is Murder, Knocked Loose), Void cements their place not only as legends of the past but as leaders of the genre’s future. From the moment opener "Devour the Children" detonates, it’s clear that Molotov Solution didn’t return to rehash old glories. This track is a declaration of war, marrying their signature mechanical riffage and blast beats with newfound urgency. The lyrical content is as unflinching as ever — bleak, confrontational, and unapologetically political — but delivered with more refined storytelling and world-building than we’ve ever seen from them. "Necessary Evil" follows, showcasing groove-laden, chugging riffs and a menacing breakdown that feels tailor-made for obliterating festival crowds. The band balances technical proficiency with sheer sonic punishment, and Putney’s mix allows every jagged edge to cut through with surgical precision. "Stranglehold" emerges as the EP’s most chaotic offering — frantic, mathy, and viciously unpredictable. Yet, beneath the whirlwind of dissonance and machine-gun double kicks lies an undeniable sense of control. This is chaos orchestrated to perfection. On "Mortis Imperium," the band expands their sound with subtle atmospheric flourishes underneath the ferocity, adding a cinematic weight to the relentless chaotic barrage of heaviness. Vocalist Nick Arthur sounds more dangerous than ever, alternating between guttural roars and higher shrieks, with lyrics that explore the rot of empire and the decay of unchecked power. The EP's closing track, "The Golden Tower," is nothing short of an apocalyptic masterpiece. The track builds from a crawling, ominous intro into a climactic maelstrom of riffs and blast beats that feel like the world is imploding. The lyrics paint a dystopian vision of corrupted power structures collapsing under their own weight — an anthem for rebellion and resilience. Ultimately, Void is not just a comeback; it’s a coronation. Molotov Solution’s nearly decade-and-a-half-long silence only sharpened their blades. This EP doesn’t just recapture their legacy — it expands it, pushing the boundaries of deathcore while staying true to the band's core: a relentless soundtrack to societal collapse and resistance. Molotov Solution has returned as a dominant force, more focused, furious, and relevant than ever. Void is a crushing, cinematic, and vital release that proves they’re not only back — they’re here to lead. Find out more from Molotov Solution: Website | Instagram | TikTok | Facebook | YouTube

- Bloodywood - Nu Delhi
Bloodywood have always been more than just a band — they’re a movement. After making waves with their self-released debut Rakshak in 2022 and taking Indian metal to international stages, the New Delhi-based rap metal/nu metal powerhouse returns with Nu Delhi , their third and most focused album to date. which is set for release on March 21, 2025, via Fearless Records. On Nu Delhi , Bloodywood once again blends the unrelenting energy of nu-metal with Indian folk influences, but this time they push harder, hit deeper, and sound more fearless than ever. The album opens with “Halla Bol,” a war cry that perfectly encapsulates what Bloodywood have become: global messengers armed with ferocity and purpose. The track is massive, with Karan Katiyar’s pounding riffs and Jayant Bhadula’s signature growls, while Raoul Kerr spits sharp political and personal truths that feel both local and universal. “Hutt” follows, delivering a searing anthem of self-validation. It’s loud, proud, and custom-built for arenas — Kerr’s fiery bars pair perfectly with Jayant’s Hindi chorus, empowering listeners to rise above negativity and outside noise. The heartbeat of the record arrives with “Dhadak,” a more introspective cut that leans into melody without sacrificing weight. Infectious melodies return on the track, juxtaposed beautifully against crushing guitar work and Vishesh Singh’s commanding drums. One of Nu Delhi ’s most exciting moments comes with “Bekhauf (Fearless),” featuring none other than Japanese pop-metal icons BABYMETAL. The collaboration feels surprisingly natural — a perfect cultural fusion where Jayant’s powerful Hindi vocals soar alongside BABYMETAL’s playful yet fierce contributions. It’s an anthem for the world stage, with the chorus, "ना किसी का ज़ोर, कदम बढ़ेंगे ठोस, हर जंग फतेह कर दूंगा मैं बेखौफ," translating to: "No force can restrain me; Every stride is firm and sure. I conquer every battle, Fearlessly." “Kismat” brings Bloodywood back to their socially conscious storytelling, alongside their Indian folk metal side, reminding listeners that our lives are shaped not just by luck but by resilience and courage. It’s equal parts motivational and confrontational — just what the band has always excelled at. The biggest curveball arrives with “Daggebaaz” — a brutal nu-metal stomper that feels darker and more aggressive than anything the band has done before. Here, they lean into danger and chaos, channelling the fury of a generation fed up with political and societal deceit. “Tadka,” meanwhile, is a total joy. It’s a celebratory, playful track paying tribute to the band’s love for Indian food. Raoul Kerr’s lines — “Because our food was made to win hearts like a wager… vicious and delicious” — are both fun and memorable, while Jayant’s vocals feel warm and inviting. It’s a reminder that Bloodywood’s spirit is as much about joy and culture as it is about protest and resilience. Finally, the album closes with its title track, “Nu Delhi,” a love letter to the band's hometown. Equal parts homage and manifesto, it cleverly ties together the band’s identity with the evolution of their sound. Katiyar’s production here is stellar, layering folk instrumentation with crushing grooves, and a rap-driven core in a way that feels cinematic. You can practically see the bustling streets, and feel the chaos and beauty of the city they call home. What makes Nu Delhi stand out is not just its fusion of styles, but its fearless authenticity. Each track is a statement — about culture, about resistance, about joy, and about self-belief. The band’s growth is palpable; they sound sharper, more confident, and more comfortable in their global role as metal ambassadors from India. If Rakshak was the rallying cry and Nu Delhi is the victory march, Bloodywood have officially cemented themselves as not just an internet sensation, but a world-class force.
