Fefe Dobson, the multi-platinum Canadian sensation, makes a triumphant return to the music scene with her long-awaited album EMOTION SICKNESS. After a thirteen-year hiatus since her last full-length release, Joy (2010), Fefe Dobson's latest offering showcases her unapologetic punk-rock spirit, rebellious lyricism, and a renewed sense of independence. On her new nine-track record, she worked with producer Sam Arion (Alessia Cara, Tyler Shaw) and together recorded a good portion of the record at one of Dobson’s favourite spots, The Fairmont Royal York Hotel in Toronto, Ontario. EMOTION SICKNESS comes as Dobson celebrates the 20th anniversary of her platinum-certified self-titled debut album that catapulted her to international success. The album had four consecutive top-ten radio singles that included, “Bye Bye Boyfriend,” “Take Me Away,” and “Don't Go (Girls & Boys).” The album and the singles received multiple award nominations including two Juno Award nominations and the album officially debuted at #1 on Billboard's Heatseekers album charts, which ultimately landed her an opening slot on Justin Timberlake’s 2004 Justified Tour across Europe.

Fefe's brand new album kicks off with the high-energy rocker "HUNGOVER," where Fefe declares her exhaustion from love, setting the tone for the emotional rollercoaster that is EMOTION SICKNESS. This track effortlessly combines her rock roots with a pop twist, featuring an infectious chorus that will have you on your feet in no time.

"FCKN IN LOVE" takes the album in a different direction, exploring sensuality and intimacy. With a sultry falsetto reminiscent of Tegan and Sara, Fefe dives into the passionate depths of love, pushing the boundaries with explicit lyrics that add to the track's allure. The track charted in the top 40 when it was initially released.

"SHUT UP AND KISS ME" continues the sonic journey with riffy guitars and a dancey bassline, showcasing Fefe's ability to blend pop and rock seamlessly. "TOO LATE" follows suit, adding an insatiably haunting synth line that draws you in and keeps you hooked.

"RECHARGE MY HEART" stands out as a heartfelt anthem, where Fefe reflects on past broken relationships and expresses her readiness to find love once more. The infectious '80s pop-rock sound perfectly complements the song's emotion, making it impossible not to sing along.

"I CAN'T LOVE HIM (AND LOVE YOU TOO)" is a genre-defying masterpiece. It combines power chords, rock vibes, and doo-wop-esque choruses with moments of pop and immense rock instrumentals. The lyrics delve into the inner conflict of loving someone new while still holding onto feelings for a previous love.

"DANCING FOR ME" showcases Fefe's vocal prowess, with her falsetto reaching its full potential in this massive pop-rock anthem. "SOMEONE NEW" adds a poppy twist to the album, featuring a hooky, futuristic synth/keyboard line that solidifies its place as a standout track.

Closing out the album is the emotionally raw "LET HER GO," where Fefe pours her heart and soul into every single note. This powerful track sees her urging a new lover to let go of their past love or face the consequences, providing a fitting conclusion to this new musical journey from Fefe.

EMOTION SICKNESS is not only a triumphant return for Fefe Dobson but also a testament to her enduring talent and influence on the music industry. As the world embraces a resurgence of nostalgia in modern pop-rock, Fefe's earnest lyricism and edgy sound are poised to make a significant impact in the 2020s. This album is a testament to her evolution as an artist and a reminder of her enduring legacy in the music world. Fefe Dobson is back, and she's here to stay.
